About Abjad Hisab

Abjad Hisab is an ancient Arabic numerological system where each of the 28 Arabic letters is assigned a numerical value. This system has been used for centuries in Islamic mysticism, poetry, and scholarship to find hidden connections and meanings in words and phrases.

The Eastern (Mashriqi) system is most widely used across the Middle East and Asia. The Western (Maghribi) system was historically used in North Africa and Al-Andalus (Islamic Spain), with slightly different letter-number correspondences.

This calculator automatically handles various Arabic script features including vowel marks (harakat), hamza variants, alif forms, ta marbuta, and the lam-alif ligature according to traditional rules.
